		<description>The interest rate on student loans is ridiculous, especially when average interest rates are lower. I don&#039;t have a problem lobbying for better rates.

It&#039;s hard to be empathetic about a large debt that, assuming you can make it through med school, will enable you to pay for becoming a doctor. I have a substantial amount of student loan debt that I took on so that I could become a minister. I did it knowingly, understanding full well the amount of money I would have to pay back. It&#039;s been a drag on our finances, for sure. But it&#039;s also enabled me to meet and work with some great people (present company included!), live in different places, play music for a living, etc. So, for me, what I&#039;ve paid (and will continue to pay) for all of that is worth it.</description>
